My family and I have hiked this area of Pisgah National Forest many times, especially when we first moved here with Ashby. Cove Creek and Caney Bottom Creek form drainage basins below Lanning Ridge and Seniard Ridge, respectively. These creeks and their tributaries join together and become part of the Davidson River, whose downhill journey takes it to the French Broad River and eventually the mighty Mississippi.
